The start at Pike Peak Ascent. It was a beautiful, sunny and cool morning. We double checked our gear and waited for the GO!
The view from the top of the W's. This series of switchbacks was a lot harder than we thought it would be. Our legs felt strong but every breath was getting harder as we climbed. Great trail surface, even as we approached higher altitude.
We would catch glimpses of the summit in the distance.
